With the start of 2009 I have returned to my daily photo endeavor. The goal is one good photo every day to keep me active with my camera and my Smugmug site. I will miss days and weeks, but hopefully I'll come back fresh after each hiatus, however long it lasts. I started shooting daily photos early last year; my gallery for 2008 is here.

Princeton Festival Opera.
Brian Stucki as Lysander and Abigail Nims as Hermia in the Princeton Festival Opera's production of Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Directed by Steven La Cosse, lighting design by Norman Coates, and costumes by Marie Miller. At McCarter Theatre Center, Princeton, NJ, June 20 and 28, 2009.
I actually shot this two days ago. I took a bunch of photos from backstage in between running cues and working on a crossword puzzle. I was happy to discover that a lot of them came out well, considering that I wasn't all that focused on what I was doing. I'm loving the VR (Tamron's image stabilization) on my new lens, though of course it only helps if the subject isn't moving. I think this is pretty good for handheld in low light.
